Why invest in video?

Photos have lost their appeal. With advancements in internet speed and technology, we’re now consuming more video content than ever.

A photo is worth a 1000 words, but videos are worth much more. It’s no wonder that scrolling through social media is even more addictive than in the past.

Whether you’re looking to upgrade your videos to increase your own views and click throughs, or to offer more value to your clients – you’re in the right place!

Wondering why it’s called

the academy?

That’s because this course is jam packed with EVERYTHING I’ve learned over the years creating, filming, editing, and posting videos. It’s not just a surface level course. I dive DEEP into all of the tips, tricks, and secrets that I learned and tested along the way.
And if you’re still on the fence or unsatisfied, I offer a 20 day money back guarantee. That’s how confident I am in the value that the academy provides!

You only need a video recording device (phone or camera), a tripod, and a bright window to start.

The academy covers everything else I use as well as what you might need to get the style and reaction that you’re looking to achieve.

From creating a storyline, setting up your scene, camera, audio, and lighting, to filming a recipe from start to finish. I walk you through every step of the way.

Learn by following along the whole process!

This is the final step to bringing your video to life.

Grab a cup of coffee and follow along while I share various editing techniques including LUTs, color grading, transitions, proxies, voiceovers, audio, export settings, and repurposing content.

Finish off the course with a final project – set up, film, and edit your OWN video – and receive direct feedback from Mary!

Foodfilm Academy FAQs

Yes! You’ll learn how to set up, film, and edit gorgeous videos using both an iPhone or a camera with video capabilities. Personally, I prefer using a camera to take videos, but the academy covers both options.

Please contact me for a team rate.

I personally use and teach how to use Adobe Premiere Pro for editing videos. I find it quite comprehensive and easy to use, especially if you’re used to using Adobe Lightroom for editing photos. You can easily apply what you will learn in the academy to any different editing software.

If you get down to the basics, all you really need is a phone with a camera (I teach how to use an iphone), or a camera with video capabilities. You’ll also need a sunny window and a tripod for your filming device. Lastly, you’ll need an editing device – your phone if you used your phone to film, or a laptop/desktop if using a camera to film. Learn more about all the other extras that you might want to upgrade your set up in the academy. This includes types of cameras, lighting, software, microphone…

Yes you can! If all you need is a one on one coaching session to fine tune your editing, you’re more than welcome to sign up just for that. You’ll get a one hour video call with Mary to go over all of your lighting, filming, editing, and other questions.

Yes, both natural and artificial lighting are covered in depth.

Yes, LUTs are covered in the course – they’re a valuable tool in making your video really pop. You’ll need a device that’s capable of filming in clog in order to be able to use LUTs.

I strove to cover a variety of styles in order for you to be able to create videos using a style that suits you the most. I also guide you on how to find and achieve a style that sets you apart.

Yes! I believe that appearing in front of the camera is invaluable, especially in a society where AI created content has the opportunity to overtake the industry. Showing your face and personality helps establish a deeper relationship with your viewers. This can create a more engaged audience, opening up more freelance opportunities.

There are over 20 video lessons, with a combined total of (tbd) watch hours. How long it takes you to get through the academy depends on your schedule and how many lessons you can get through in a week.

There isn’t any homework or assignments during the duration of the course. However, at the end, you have the opportunity to complete a final project where you create a video from start to finish, while implementing everything you learned in the course. Once submitted, Mary will provide customized constructive feedback on the project. Doing it

You can do this too!

From filming videos on my Samsung galaxy s7 in 2020 to filming eye-catching, cinematic videos with my camera in 2024. I share everything I learned so that you don’t have to spend YEARS researching and learning on your own like I did.

I’d be honored to join you on your journey and make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I’m just SO excited for you!
